The Story Behind the Symbol

The Evil Eye is a universal symbol of protection that dates back over 5,000 years, first emerging alongside the birth of Mediterranean glassmaking—at the very roots of creation and human creativity. While it takes many names and forms across different cultures, its core purpose remains: to shield you from negative energy and ill thoughts.

For Holly, this symbol is deeply personal. Rooted in her Lebanese-Mexican heritage, the evil eye was a constant fixture in her family home, tracing a lineage that traveled from Lebanon to Mexico, and finally to the United States.

In exploring this motif, Holly asked one of her Tías in Mexico about the symbol. Her Tía shared that the evil eye actively protects you from the envy or ill thoughts of others. Crafting this collection served as a way to re-embody how to protect energy—physically, mentally, creatively, and spiritually.
