The Story Behind the Tray 

Every space needs a sanctuary for sacred objects, the engagement ring, a treasured pair of earrings, or an heirloom piece passed down through generations. This tray was built to be a safe resting place for your fine jewelry on a nightstand, vanity, or bathroom counter.

The Process

Each tray is slowly shaped and formed by hand, leaving soft, organic contours in the clay. Once bisque-fired and glazed, the tray undergoes raku flashing.

At peak temperature, the glowing piece is pulled straight from the kiln and transferred into a reduction chamber with organic materials like sawdust and leaves. The interaction between flame, air, and mineral glazes creates unpredictable metallic lusters, iridescent color shifts, and smoky accents. Because the fire and air flow dictate the final finish, no two trays will ever look the same.

Care & Longevity

Because Raku is an alternative, low-fire ceramic process, your tray needs different care than everyday kitchen stoneware.

• Dry Use Only: Raku remains porous, since it's fired at a lower temperature without a traditional waterproof glaze. Keep contents dry — this tray is designed for jewelry, keys, and other small dry objects, not liquids.

• Indoor Display: Keep your tray indoors, away from freezing temperatures or direct outdoor elements, which can weaken the clay and dull the smoke-imbued finish.

• Cleaning & Dusting: Never submerge or place in the dishwasher. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfiber cloth.
